Welcome

Welcome to the site of Ken Gardiner. Here you’ll find a number of Christian resources available including commentaries on books of the bible, Good Friday meditations and a selection of sermons.

The resources found on this site are from the personal collection of Ken Gardiner, a Canon Emeritus of Rochester Cathedral, who during retirement from many years teaching in church has the desire to make these thoughts and teachings available to the wider church.

Commentaries

My greatest joy has been the study of the Bible. In this section you’ll find a range of personal commentaries on the books I have studied. Read the Commentaries

Good Friday Meditations

This section contains one three hour-long meditation and four of the hour-long meditations which I have used over the years. One is based on the seven words from the cross, and others see the events of Good Friday through the eyes and thoughts of those who were there. Read the Good Friday Meditations

Sermons

In this section you’ll find a selection of sermons, selected because they raise issues which may be regarded as controversial in order to stimulate thought and discussion. Read the Sermons

Seminars

Over the years I have been invited to lead series of teaching sessions. Sometimes these have been in the form of a lecture or talk each week during Lent; at other times they have been spread over a weekend. Obviously on such occasions there is the opportunity to study a subject in greater depth than in a single sermon. I suppose the most thorough of these has been on The Doctrine of The Holy Spirit. I hope to add others as I am able to prepare them for display on this website. Read the Seminars on the Holy Spirit
